WES news: launch of the Asia-Pacific Future 100!

Andrea Krause helped us out with WES 2008 as a student. She has since gone on to be the executive director of the Foundation for Youth Entrepreneurship (FYSE) which launched last week with its Asia Pacific Future 100 program, a program aiming to inspire young people to become
entrepreneurs.

Most entrpereneurs seem to be talking about "emergency" finance to tide them through until the world's markets pick up, but Gary Cope is an exception in these gloomy times.  He is the founder of MySkip.com, which claims to be the world’s most secure, easy-to-use and free website encouraging consumers and businesses to put unwanted products on the website for reuse by other users.

Will the downturn affect investments in clean tech?

A report published today by Price Waterhouse Coopers and PointCarbon suggests that the recession is causing a reduction in the amount of investment cash available for clean tech investments.  If true, this is really worrying because an earlier report by Price Waterhouse Coopers estimated that some $500bn per year was needed in carbon investments in order to make the drastic turnaround necessary if climate change is not to become irreversable.
